Asbestos Floor Tiles

Asbestos floor tiles were once a very popular choice for flooring. Mixing asbestos into vinyl (a type of plastic) made them better insulated. As well as being resilient and available for low prices. For that reason, they were a common choice for businesses, schools, and hospitals. Vinyl floor tiles were mainly used from the 1950s through to the 80s.

Due to the structure of the Asbestos within the tiles they pose little risk of exposure to the asbestos fibres. However, we always advise to seek professional guidance when dealing with such a risky substance.
